BLOSSOM CHUKWUJEKWU, MAKIDA MOKA AND MICHAEL UCHEGBU ON THE SET OF NIGERIA’S FIRST TELENOVELA

Reputed to be Nigeria’s first telenovela, ‘A Taste of Love’ chronicles the love affair between Hadiza Musa-Philips (Makida Moka) and Kelechi Pepple (Blossom Chukwujekwu), who are children of two rival families that own sugarcane plantations.

The story revolves around the friendship, betrayal and hatred among the families of Musa- Phillips and Pepple. Ibrahim Musa- Phillips is convinced that Jonathan Pepple betrayed him and caused the death of his wife, Maria. Until the real dark truth emerges, their children who fall in love with each other strives to overcome the family hatred.

Blossom who became a screen favourite in the wake of his breakthrough role as Tunde Kulani in ‘Flower Girl’, followed by his follow-up critically acclaimed performance in ‘Finding Mercy’ opposite Rita Dominic, and his ‘if-you-blink-you-will-miss-it’ performance in “Knocking on Heavens Door” lived up to his billing in this soon to be aired production.

His pedigree as a passionate lover-boy was matched fire for fire by the supermodel, Makida Moda, who won the ‘Face of Sleek’ beauty competition in 2009, and has a recurring role playing herself in ‘Gidi Up’, the Ndani TV web series.  Michael Uchegbu, a Del-York Creative Academy fresh graduate, who is notable for his outstanding headlining role as the gang leader in the action movie “Four Crooks and a Rookie”, and as Michael  in the MNET sitcom ‘The Johnson’s' complimented their effort as Imoh Essein, son to another sugar cane plantation owner in the series.

Also appearing in the series are Ayo Lijadu, Yomi Obileye, Kunle Coker, Paul Adams, Wale Macaulay, Femi Brainard, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Makida Moka, Mofe Duncan, Gabriel Afolayan, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Omowunmi Dada.

The series was produced by content acquisition and production company, Micromedia Marketing Limited. It will begin airing on terrestrial and cable TV in October 2014.
